Upload problems with new router

Last week my old router stopped working so I bought a new one. It seemed to work just fine because I could access everything and explore the internet as always (watch youtube, social networks etc). However, I decided to do a Speedtest (Ookla) when a website was having trouble accepting my inputs, whereas my smartphone had no trouble to. It was then that I saw there was a problem. The ping and download test ran normally, but the upload test would not run, the speeds would be 0,00 and then an error message would appear saying "A socket error occurred during the Upload test. A firewall could be blocking the connection or the server might be having some issues. Please try again later." . I have a laptop and my smartphone connected to the same wifi and both have no problems with that. I've tested the computer wired to the router and it works fine. My past router had no problems either. I've searched a lot and couldn't find any solution that fits my problem. I've made no changes to my pc, haven't downloaded any different softwares. The only change was the router.

edit: it runs on windows 7 Professional 64 bits

Solution
It is possible. You might want to see if there are new drivers for WiFi adapter. Also sometimes, just uninstalling and reinstalling a driver will fix things. This is a very uncommon problem.
Was this a Netgear router? It kind of sounds like WMM is turned on (you can find it in the QoS section). WMM is suppose to give priority to voice and video, but instead seems to give priority to wifi over Ethernet, thus just about killing your Ethernet connected devices. Try turning that off. You may need to restart the router after changing the setting (I don't recall).

If it's not a Netgear, let us know what brand and model you bought.

It's a Mercusys MW301R ( I live in Brazil and it was the only option I had at that time). I couldn't find much about the router but thought there might be a more general solution (if there is one), or it may be that the router is just not working properly.

There is the possibility of a fault with the router. Looking at pictures of the router, there appear to be multiple LAN ports ... have you tried plugging into a different LAN port?

The error message you received has also been linked to anti-virus software. Have you tried with your anti-virus temporarily disabled?

I'm using the wifi on the router, but have already tested both ports and both work on my pc (one of them is used by my PS4 and it works aswell). The only issue is when trying to use the wifi on my PC. And yes, I've tested without firewall and antivirus and neither have worked. Is there any chance of an incompatibility issue between them?
