Overclocked 4.6 stable with 2400 xmp using 212 evo, new noctua d15 cant get same overclock

System specs:
i7 4790k
z87 gd65 motherboard updated bios
16gb 2400mhz xmp profile stock is 1333mhz
1080ti overclock -no issues here i think
old cooler 212 evo
new cooler noctua nh d15
psu 1000w

Problem:
With the 212 evo I got a stable 4.6 overclock 1.27v, ring volt is 1.2 something, ram clocked at 1.65. Now I got a new noctua d15 i cant get to the same overclock the 212 is giving. While using noctua, I noticed that if i set the ram back to 1333 stock voltage, it can get to 4.6 but when i enable xmp profile it wont even boot. Right now im using oc genie auto boost which already enables xmp. Everything runs.

I am however surprised to get the same performance using oc genie 4.4 + xmp profile with noctua. I'm just confused why I cant overclock it beyond the oc genie overclock. Need help tom communityy

EDIT:
Okay I am not getting the same perfomance, I stand corrected. I need help guys. how do I get that 4.6 back. Does it something to do with the noctua using 2 fans vs 1?

Solution
the mobo should be fine powering two noctua fans they are not power hungry fans

2400mhz is a pretty high overclock for DDR3, you might have to go 1.7V or loosen the memory timing values

according to noctua website the fans consume 1.56W / 12V each. that's way under a typical fan header's 1A capacity. But yes there'll be power issues if you have two high power fans on the same header thru a y splitter that exceeds the header's rated 1A limit. They will cause mobo power delivery problems because the fans are on the 12 rail. So as those high power fans spin up they require more power and the mobo would either circuit protect itself by rebooting or it'll give you a q code pre post. not the case here tho if you are using noctua's included fans (1.56W each)

Okay. I have thought about power distribution from maxing out those fans. So what should my recourse be? Just use 1 fan? I haveanaged to overclock the CPU to 4.8 @ 1.3 and the ram to 2200 @ 1.515 but Everytime I put it to 2400 it fails.

No the noctua fans are only rated at 1.56W each according to their website. A typical 1A/12V fan header on the mobo should be good for a little less than ~12W.

There are high powered 140mm fans out there that draws max 7.5W so watch out for those

Okay I dont think it's the fans because I tried using only one fan while hitting ram up to 2400mhz and it still doesn't boot. I know it's a power issue but at this point I don't konw if it's the fans or just the MoBo being such a pussy. Is there a way to increase the power to accomodate the noctua and the overclocked ram of 2400? My ram voltage is already 1.5 at 2200mhz. I tried increasing it to 1.65 for a 2400mhz overclock but it just doesn't work.
