So I run a Ryzen 5 2600 + X470 Aorus Ultra gaming MB.

I've looked around and Ive been told to upgrade my 1x8GB 2133Mhz Crucial RAM because Ryzen benefits from faster Ram.
Im planning on getting this CORSAIR - Vengeance LPX 8GB (2PK 4GB) 3GHz PC4-24000 DDR4 CMK8GX4M2B3000C15

I was wondering if everything would work just fine , and if its worth even taking out the 2133 Mhz RAM just because it is too slow. I know that I will have to put the new RAM in their own Dual Channel. However, will I have to do anything else? Like for example go into my bios to change something? The only reason I am asking is because I have heard a bit of flak with Ram compatibility for Ryzen

Update: Ive checked my motherboards RAM support list and this RAM isn't on there. Does my RAM have to be on the qualified vendors list also it is not on any compatibility for Crucials website either, I mean it should check out from the info it is giving but on according to Amazon it says it is compatible with intel series Mobos, does that mean only Intel MBs or AMD as well?

Solution

Just try the RAM kit, even if it is not in the compatibility list.
Just make sure the seller want to take it back , if you have compatibility issues.
All stores (Germany) I am...
Yes, Ryzen 2xxx get benefits from faster RAM.
However, the best performance/price value is on about 3200MHz CL16.
There are faster RAM or RAM with lower latency but the extra price is still quite big.

RAM speed is usually BIOS stuff.

RAM compatibility issue/problem on Ryzen 2xxx + X/B 4xx is much lower a.k.a. the compatibility is a lot better.

I see that but do you think the RAM would still be compatible with my system (Mobo) the main reason why im looking at this RAM is because it is under 100$ and it isnt appearing on any compatibility lists

single channel ram also causes some games to run like with half the FPS as well. so I would really get Ryzen compatible ram (some is made specifically to work with it out of the box) like this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232530

I have a few kits of that and it work great. there is a few other options but having dual channel 3000+ ram is best. that one just has a little extra compared to the other options (faster and better CL)

Just try the RAM kit, even if it is not in the compatibility list.

All stores (Germany) I am buying for do this :)

Just an FYI I have seen a lot of intel specified ram that will work with the AMD Ryzen systems but a lot of times for example if its 3200 Mhz ram it may only work at like 2800 speed.. and so on.. IF you are wanting only 8GB of ram and slower stuff then https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820158491 would work being its designed to work with Ryzen platform.. though if you do any multi tasking / heavy gaming I would always recomend 3000+ and 16 GB of dual channel ram.
