my friend is giving a processor to me e3 1240 v2. He told me that it performs almost as good as i7 2600 so i started looking for its performance on internet.
while searching i got 2 processor of same name and same speed with different launch date. There is huge performance gap too..

(check these links)

so now im confused, how am i suppose to find out which one will be mine(when i get it)?
please help ASAP!

Solution
Some programs only use 1 core and the others are wasted. If you use 1 core then "Turbo" speed becomes available and the single core speed goes higher.
It's useful to some people.

I have no idea. But I try to avoid using userbenchmark for that reason. They lump all 1240 v2's into the same category regardless of if they are underclocked, have cores deactivated, etc. With other cpu's like the i7 8700k for example they lump all the overclocked 8700k's into the same category as the stock ones, which can make it look like your stock 8700k is under performing compared to other 8700k's.

And no problem.

Probably because he saw some utube vid, that claims:
"If you disable 3 of the 4 cores, the whole processor power can be devoted to the one remaining core."
Yes, idiot claims like that exist. And yes, people follow them.
