And also , Everytime you have overclocked a monitor, you've never had it die after awhile or result in any issues? I won't take the chance if it's dangerous but it seems everyone on the internet says it could be a risk but nobody has ever actually damaged monitor.
Or the AMD equivalent in the radeon software, doesn't matter.
I overclocked an old bottom of the barrel Acer 1080p 60hz screen to 73hz (wouldn't go any higher) and left it like that for years and never had a problem. My friend has it now but back at 60hz, still works today as far as i know.
Well when you say that you really cant afford another monitor, I am hesitant to recommend you overclock it. I have never damaged or heard of anyone damaging a monitor with an OC either. But if I was in your position I probably wouldn't demand something of my monitor that it wasn't necessarily built to do. Espcially if you can only get like an extra 5hz out of it.
If you do decide to do it I would try display port . Your cable choice can actually affect how far it will overclock.
