I had 3200mhz ram working just fine for 2 weeks at 3200mhz 15-15-15-36 1.4v. After a thunderstorm for which I had the computer off, it wouldn't boot and was stuck on Qcode 7A but after a bios reset and an attempt to get the ram back to the same timings, it ended with a failed post. Is there any reason why this could be happening?

1.35v is the absolute max you should be having on the new memory. DDR3 could allow you to go to 1.65v. It'd be dead if you fed it anymore. List your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

See if flashing your BIOS again with the latest update changes the issue. Can you work with the ram kit while on X.M.P? Can you work with the ram kit while on the stock DDR4 2133/2400MHz clocks(that is, on defaults)?

It does indeed work in 2133 but nothing over that. I had it at 1.4 because that's where it was stable at with the timings. The kit itself was 16-16-18
