how do i make my hdd (D:) my main driver (C:)

hey guys this is my first time posting so..

anyway i have a lenovo laptop with a ssd drive and a hdd
my ssd is the C: and my hdd the D:
my question is: how do i change those letters so when i download stuff/make new files they go to my hdd instead of my dad?

You can tell your "Documents" folder to be on the D drive.
(instructions above)

Then, just save that text doc to your Documents folder.

You don't.
Not the way you're thinking, anyway. You can't change the C drive like that.

Instead, you simply redirect where things go.

Browser downloads, easy change to whatever other drive and folder you want.

For Steam games, you can designate a different drive for installs, and even make that the default:
Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

so when i make a text document for example I have to put that manually in the D: drive? that's not user friendly at all
