Ram boot issue

I’ve been having issues with my RAM. It’s a patriot DDR3 2x4gb 1333. When I put them in they will show in the bios but will put my computer in a boot loop. All the slots are for 1333 and 1066. But when I stick a different stick in it will work. What’s going on?

Solution
Remove RAM. Give both sticks' contacts a wipe with a dry cloth, taking care not to leave cloth fibres or residue on the sticks. Try them again. If no luck, try each stick in the first RAM slot, and see if either can get the system to boot.

If one works, and the other doesn't, you know the score. If no luck on either, try a RAM speed / timings reduction, or failing that, a BIOS reset.

One other thing. With both sticks, can it boot to safemode? It might add to the puzzle, but I'm curious, all the same.
