Stuck at the asus logo and harddisk clicking sound

My laptop can't boot up and stuck at the asus logo, the harddisk make a loud clicking sound and i tough it may be a failed hdd. So i change the hdd to a new one but the clicking sound is still there and i still stuck at the asus logo

Anyone know why this happened?

At first I was going to say....it's definitely the HD.....replace it.

Now I'd say.....I'd be trying to find out where that clicking sound is coming from.

I assume the clicking sound started the same time your boot problem started or you wouldn't have mentioned it.....which leads me to think that the clicking sound is part of your problem.
