Does a PCIe drive fit in an m.2 slot?

Hi, I currently have a MSi x470 gaming motherboard, which has two m.2 slots on it. When I search for an m.2 drive online, I see several models that are PCIe x4, like

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147689&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Solid+State+Disk-_-N82E16820147689&gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8WqjOsw2TLq4psr_gtX2P-F8pzUy7AvFvdsxTIRBgJAP7QrAjDbN2LcRoCYGwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

and I got wondering, why is it called an m.2 drive if it's actually PCIe? Will it fit in an m.2 slot anyways? I am unclear to wheather this will work or not if I plug it into the m.2 slot. Any help is appreciated, thx in advance.

Solution
On that motherboard, the m.2 port will accept a PCIe based drive.

Other motherboards with an m.2 port may only accept a SATA based m.2 drive.

M.2 is simply the form factor.
Not all m.2 ports are equal.
