I want to change from an Intel core i5 6400 to a Ryzen 5 2600 so obviously i need to change the motherboard but i want to know weather my uncultivated windows need to be reinstalled and is there any way of going around that.

True...we didn't go into what OS it is.
And Pre-Win 10, it doesn't matter if it is a reinstall or not. A new motherboard triggers a license issue.

However, new Ryzen doesn't really support pre-Win 10. Yes, you can force it to work, but it is not optinmal.

So...what OS is this?

Yes, you will need a full OS reinstall.
Activated or unactivated makes no difference...that level of change almost certainly requires a full reinstall.

No, not "screwed".
It's just a reinstall. Not the end of the world.
