Possible dead GTX 1070 Serious advice needed

My issue is that when I launch any game I get a message saying that im out of vRAM. This just started happening pretty much over night. I have tried rolling back drivers but it made no difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:
I7-8700K @Stock
8GB RAM (ik its not ideal sshhhhh)
GTX 1070
650W EVGA Gold Rated PSU

Fire up MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision to see what the GPU memory usage actually is. If it is high at idle, I suspect software. I would run some anti-malware tools to rule out someone using your GPU for mining and uninstall anything you aren't using.

Might also fire up GPU-Z to see if the card is still reporting 8GB of memory. I can't imagine it would still work if it lost some of the memory though.
