I have a Gigabye x79s-UP5-WIFI 3 way crossfire SLI SATA 3.0 usb LGA 2011 motherboard,
1300 watts 80 plus gold power,
16 gb of ram
Intell I-7 3930k 3.2 ghz 12 mb core

and my 2 MSI nvidia GTX 680 2gb twin Frozr lll PCIE video cards are going out

Since i have legacy bios what is an upgrade for me? I am so lost after days of research i have no idea what to do, i am defeated and need help.

Solution
if you have the 1.1 rev mb there one beta bios for you. with your mb before you toss your rig and rebuild find a local micro center or pc repair store. not all aib cards are the same. i seen your error on some hp and dells over the years where one brand of gpu would not work but another would work fine. with your rig see if the gpu and another part of the mb is trying to use the same irq or memory range. turn off printer and serial ports. in the bios see if there efi mode. if there is try turning that mode on.

Then maybe your failure is related to your motherboard failing, because there is nothing BIOS wise preventing any current card from running on that board.

my computer works just fine, the 1050ti did not work with my computer. Everything that i can think of is up to date but so many other have told me that it wont take a legacy bios including one that has no UEFI at all

And yet we have tons of users running such a card on systems older than yours with Legacy BIOS without issue.

So again it may be an issue with your board, or maybe specifically the Legacy BIOS on that board just won't work right with a newer card.

If you get an initial display (splash screen), the card should be compatible. Incompatible cards/boards never even produce a display. All the UEFI cards I've ever used have worked on old boards... except one. An Intel-branded board and a AMD R7 370. Nvidia has never failed.
