Internet dropping at the office for 10-20 seconds every 15-30 minutes. Currently at a loss.

So basically title. We’ve got a small office and we have fiber through the building. Everyone is hard-lined in(no WiFi workstations) and the whole office will have a drop for a few seconds with their internet connection.

First, we thought it was our firewall. We replaced and got a newer model watchguard firewall. Didn’t fix it.

We then added a switch between the Media Converter from the ISP and the watchguard. Didn’t work.

Bought a linksys modem/router to use instead of the watchguard. Same issue.

Replaced the Media converter. Nope.

ISP gave us a second static IP address to run multiple ping tests. One from MC>switch>watchguard>servers>office. Second from MC>switch>spare PC (closest way to test JUST the media converter). STILL dropped on both.

Ran a ping test overnight yesterday from MC>spare PC which disconnected the whole office, but we needed to run a designated test. From 5pm to 12:20am there were 10+ drops, BUT from 12:20 to 8am when I got back in, there wasn’t a single drop.

Plugged everything up back to normal. Still dropping as of today. Our IT dept is racking their brain, our ISP doesn’t want to stay more than 5 minutes because they don’t see the drop within the 5 minutes they’re at the office.

TLDR: internet drops every 30 minutes for a few seconds and NO ONE on our team can diagnose the issue. Please help.

Solution
run a constant ping to your own router gateway and another to the isp 1st gateway.
when it drops see which one fails.

you could also ping another client on the same bridge.
