If you're referring to the PCIe 2.0, not enough to worry about. And if you get an Ivy Bridge CPU and the latest BIOS, it may be able to run at PCIe 3.0.
If you're referring to the fact that you have a i5-2300, yes. There will be some CPU bottleneck with the 1080. Less to none with the 980.
