Which CPU is better for multitasking, rendering, streaming and gaming - The i9 7900x or Threadripper 1950x?

"It depends" is always the answer. What software will you be using to render/stream? What games will you be playing? Are you aiming to have minimal FPS loss while gaming, or are you simply looking for a rendering beast? In most cases, a two-PC setup is better for streaming, but will sacrifice a bit of rendering horsepower. The more I know, the more I can help.

1950x will be better in almost any application that takes advantage of large core/thread count.

In gaming the 7900x will pull ahead of the 1950x due to better single core performance. That being said 1950x will be perfectly fine in gaming.

If you are actually doing rendering and content creation, i would go AMD.

So I will be streaming and recording 1080p 60fps video using OBS and I will be rendering using Sony Vegas 15. I want to play/record/stream games at 1080p max settings while being able to play at 144hz, games like Fortnite, GTA, Pubg etc. I will be buying a 1080ti or the new RTX 2080ti when it comes out but I want to be able to multitask like being able to render and stream at the same time while having other apps open, like a lot of multitasking...
