So im new to the whole PC thing and just started my build like a minth ago. i have all the parts and PC built with the Motherboard being the ASUS Prime z370-A. the problem is that i ordered the RAM before i got the motherboard and forgot to check if the Motherboard was compatibe with DDR3 RAM (i bought the Patriot Viper DDR3 (2x4GB)) and so i was wondering if i should buy DDR4's instead because im not sure if the 3's would work.

Solution

DDR3 will not work. The Motherboard only supports DDR4.

DDR4 4000(O.C.)/ 3866(O.C.)/ 3733(O.C.)/ 3600(O.C.)/ 3466(O.C.)/ 3400(O.C.)/ 3333(O.C.)/ 3300(O.C.)/ 3200(O.C.)/ 3000(O.C.)/ 2800(O.C.)/ 2666(O.C.)/ 2400(O.C.)/ 2133
