Hello there,
I have a relatively new laptop - the Dell Inspiron 5566, which has a i7-7500U, intel HD graphics 620, and 8 gb ram. It has no thunderbolt ports, and I want to be able to game on it. Is there any chance I can get an external graphics card that does not require thunderbolt 3?

Solution
Without a Thunderbolt 3 port, you'll need to open the case of your laptop and plug into a PCIe port. Here's some info: https://www.pcworld.com/article/2984716/laptop-computers/how-to-transform-your-laptop-into-a-gaming-powerhouse-with-an-external-graphics-card.html?page=4. Personally, I think this would be a big pain in the %@^&*. It might be easier to sell your laptop and buy a gaming laptop.
