Is RTX 2080 worth it? And which version should I buy?

I have an Asus Strix 1080 card, and was looking for an upgrade. But I was wondering if the rtx 2080 is worth the upgrade.

I game at 1440p@144fps.

And also if I’m going to get one, should I buy the reference versions from asus for example or the founder’s edition? I heard their performance is pretty much the same.

While there is wisdom in waiting for actual benchmarks and if you can, you should.

If you want an answer based on the available information. Since you want to game at 1440p@144fps you should be fine with a 1080ti or RTX 2080 and they should both be around similar performances. As for your 1080 it should do the job but doubt you can max graphics in upcoming games.

Basically, the rtx 2080 is really pricey and will remain so while the 1080ti will be dropping. It ultimately depends on how much money your willing to spend for what performance. But the 2080 is marketed as a true 4k card. So you'll be set for your 1440p needs regardless of its final performance.

LMAO, I actually don't care if it is worth it because I have a GTX 970; the RTX 2080 should be a huge upgrade. Reason why I don't care is because the RTX 2080 qualifies for 24 months 0 interest.

If you're happy with the frames you are getting; there is no reason to upgrade, unless you are one of those who buys every new GPU once they're released.
