Adding a third 8 GB ram stick to 2X4 ram

Hi, planning to upgrade my PC and adding a third 8 GB ram stick, I now have a 2x4 kit in the 2+4 slots,(the first slot is blocked).
Is it possible? and if it is, can I put it in the third slot?

Solution
Might, might not - that’s why it’s best to use matched sets.

If it does work, all your ram will go into single channel mode and you’ll have a 5% or so memory performance loss.
