Controlling keyboard hardware RGB lighting through software?

Hi there,

I have an AZIO MGK L80 RGB keyboard. This keyboard has the ability to program different color lighting for each individual key, however, this is all done at the hardware level. No software utility exists, as far as I know, that can connect to this keyboard.

This is inconvenient for me as I usually like my keys all to be a moderately bright white when typing or generally using my computer, but I would like to be able to modify the colors of only certain keys to remind myself of the controls for different games. If I wanted to do this at the moment, I would have to manually set each key color before starting the game, and then set them all back to white afterwards, which is time-consuming.

I'm hoping there's some utility out there (either made by a hobbyist or a rival manufacturer, I'm not picky) that will somehow let me save configurations of colors and switch between them in software (perhaps via macroing? This keyboard has a built-in macro function but it doesn't recognize input from the function key which is necessary to change the colors of the keys so the built-in macro is useless for this purpose). The ability to actually change the colors of the keys in the utility would be a plus, but if I have to manually set the keyboard as I'd like once so that the utility could record it and then execute it for me later, I wouldn't mind doing that.

Does anyone know of something that can do what I need, or can be made to do so?

Thanks!

Have not run across that model before, most of those cheaper keyboards have area lighting not per key changing. I can see how having to do all that in hardware can be annoying.

BestBuy actually has good deals on Corsair...

Well, mine IS an RGB keyboard, so I was hoping there was some generic utility that could connect to its RGB controller chip/board/etc, or a manufacturer's utility that could be made to recognize my keyboard. Or something that could at least record the function key press so that I could make macros to change the color of the lighting and activate them from my PC.

BestBuy actually has good deals on Corsair keyboards often, like this one now, RGB and I know Corsiar has good software for their keyboard. I own a similar keyboard, the one with Silent MX switches. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-rapidfire-k70-wired-gaming-mechanical-cherry-mx-speed-switch-keyboard-with-rgb-backlighting-black/5226009.p?skuId=5226009&ref=212&loc=DWA&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz93cBRCrARIsAEFbWsjiJe5O7FtTVDSGr-92hIzDw2yOrT0eC_mB_mn7nSEnfuyEexdUwfYaArQSEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thanks very much, I'll keep an eye out for that! (If anybody can still answer my original post, I'd welcome it, by the way)
