I have a psu that was recently around a fire, it never hurt the computer as far as i know i havent tried to use it, kind of questioning the computer, the fire was caused by an arching from surge protector, the fire never got close to the computer, however the was a lot of heat where it was, would it still be ok to try and see or would it be best to just through it away, reason why i ask is cause i need a psu and the one it has is a high power, and also the game card in it, i just dont want to take any chances of it happening again or any chance of it doing anything else other than what it should. Thank you.

You could give it a simple test while not installed in the computer. On 20/24 pin connector, connect green wire and and black one, the PSU should start and fan too. Use voltmeter to check voltages in appropriate places.

Without proper instruments you can't check under load but this would be enough to be reasonably sure it's not going to blow anything.
