Getting 20fps playing games.

Hey there. So I have a GTX 1060 6GB and for the last three days I've had an FPS Issue where I can't get above 25frames. Everything on Low, power options set to High Performance. Rolled back drivers and clean Installed drivers.

Any Ideas?

what games are you playing? What cpu do you use? what is your mobo? as far as i know your computer is being bottlenecked

It was working fine last week. Like I have VODs on Twitch where It's working but now It's not.

Yes, but like I said. You can see my VODs and It's been completely fine.

Also I get the low frames WITHOUT being on stream. It's 24/7 for some reason, I've changed no settings It's just gone to sh*t.

So I just rebooted after replugging display leads. It appears my GPU Is being pushed to 100% but nothing changing, temps don't even go up. But It's registered that my card Is plugged In and working.

maybe your gpu card is dying. did you scan for malware and virus?

are you running all that malware and antivirus software while gaming? malwarebytes causes my machines to stutter for media playback and such. makes my home computer unusable too. I have had similar experience with just about every other one too.

windows gets updated, things do change, even though you are not aware of it. I think this outbreak of widespread stuttering and low game performance is related to all the updates for Specter and Meltdown. disable that stuff and then test some gaming.

when you are gaming, can you run the built in windows Resource Monitor and monitor the cpu and disk and network to see what is going on with the pc during gaming sessions? you can sort things too for max usage at top to see the offenders in the CPU, Disk and Network categories.

It's using like 40% cpu and 98% gpu. I don't know what I'm really looking at with the Resource Monitor.

Resource monitor tells you what is being used by each respective resource, what program is running, in Disk tab you can see what are the big hogs if you sort by total bytes read or written. it shows what programs are doing the most accessing the disk for instance. however the 98% doesn't sound good with your CPU. something is wrong, indeed.

at this point i would back up data and do a clean install. CLEAN, with only one drive hooked up, delete all partitions using windows installer from usb and let windows installer handle setting up the windows drive from there. once everything is working, all devices, don't just go crazy installing drivers, use the Win10 driver set, test and see what happens.

i am wondering if you have not been infected with something from your games. it's a real thing.

The biggest hog on Disk Is COD:WWII when I'm running It. 98% GPU Usage not CPU.

reinstall is your only option at this point. don't bother with needles in haystacks. boot to usb and install clean in 8 minutes. done. something happened to your box. If that doesn't fix it, you have hardware issues.
