ethernet connecting to a different name

i have avast and it didn't do anything about one of my accounts getting hacked (presumably through the browser) but i got a firewall through avast and its saying my Ethernet is connected to social.rr.com now and thats not the Ethernet name it always was... is something fishy going on

Have you looked at the network settings of your router? It is your responsibility to set those up. Perhaps they have defaulted to the router manufacturers settings. But since they are set up by you, you can change the name of the network at any time. You can change the security settings as well.

If you need the manual for your router, you can google the make and model of router. Then simply download it.

You mentioned being hacked. How were you hacked? What were the details?

its weird because my wireless networks are the same name
