hi guys, need a little help.

currently i'm using i3-8100 on a gigabyte B360 (8th gen only). i want to upgrade my processor. what should the upgrade be? i7 7700k(2nd hand) or i5 8600k(new)? i can get them at same price. if i go for 8600k, it shall be just an easy upgrade coz my mobo supports 8th gen. and then i can sell my 8100. but if i go for 7700k then i gotta sell my cpu and mobo too and then again gotta buy a 7th gen mobo which is a p@in in th3 a$$. sorry for my language but i'm really disappointed with my running cpu and confused which one to buy. i saw benchmarks on youtube and saw that stock i7-7700k beats i5-8400 in almost every game and i5-8600k performs almost same as stock i7-7700k and even better in some games. plz help me. oh and one more thing, even if i buy either one, i'm not gonna overclock them so i'm good with b360-like mid-range mobo's so plz don't tell me to go for a non-K processor or high-end mobo's. it just looks so cool when saying "I have 4790K or 7700K or 8600K or 8700K" :D :D :pt1cable: :pt1cable:

No contest, the 8600K all day long. One of the very best gaming CPU's available stock. When and if you are finally ready to overclock, it is one of the easiest to overclock to 4.8GHz all core out of the box with just a multiplayer change and nothing else...

Bottom line, the 8600K will allow you to game fantastically now and will allow you to upgrade later to the 9th Gen...9700K, 9800K and the mighty 9900K 8 core 16 thread CPU coming in October...

PS I totally get where you are coming from on having the 'K' suffix....But when you ever get the chance, do overclock as the 8600K begs for it...
The 7700k will not fit your board and would be silly to go back to older tech so I stay with a 8th gen cpu or update the bios and wait for the 9th gen cpus to come out.

Having a B360 means you wont be able to overclock the 8600k but will give you a speed boost over the 8400, so if you dont mind the extra $50 for the k i would go that route.
