So I Have this Gateway computer I bought at a garage sale for $5 However. It turns on but doesn't display anything. When I would turn it on, it gives a beep code, the beep code stands for base 64k ram Failure or something like that, However I have replaced, Power supply, cpu, motherboard, ram and Video card. and with the new cpu installed, I get no beep codes anymore but nothing on the display. And then when I switch back to the original cpu, I dont get beep codes anymore and still nothing on the display. Can someone help me on trying to fix this cause I want to get into windows 98 gaming and this is my only windows 98 pc I have.

Computer Specs:
Amd Athlon 950mhz
64MB Pc133
10.2GB Hard Drive
Nvidia Riva TNT2 m64

Yes I did try that. I have an amd athlon @ 950mhz (Orignal one) and a amd athlon @ 1200mhz (new one). I put both of the cpus into the old mobo and the new one and still nothing. I googled the chipset number and the only thing i can find is a website saying it supports amd athlon and amd duron cpus but it dosent say which ones. I don know if this matters or not but when I touch the cpu heatsink and the chipset, its warm. But when I touch the fanless gpu, theres no heat coming from it at all.

What model mobo do you have? (or gateway pc model we can use to look it up) Sometimes it required mobo firmware upgrades to work with some CPUs. Oddly enough though, you would think if it came with a CPU preinstalled. It should be working and showing a post with at least the old CPU.

I tried that and im still getting error code C0. could it possibly be a cpu problem?

Yes, very possible.
