Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ODIN mode problem

I have a Samsung galaxy note 4 N910F. I have tried to turn it on in the past for several times but nothing happened no vibration or anything, until now when I plugged it in. I recently plugged the phone in and then the Odin screen came up. It seems to be stuck on the Odin screen. I have tried to flash the standard or official firmware for the device on Odin and I did not succeed. It came up with fail (Odin on Windows). In addition in Odin mode (on the phone) it says that the ddi : mm_read failed then a couple of lines down it says UDC start followed by MMC: mmc-read fail followed by ODIN: flash read failure. I have no idea what is wrong with the phone.

The images of the phone and Odin can be found here: https://imgur.com/a/jmEPAUk

Any help that can be done to resolve this issue will be much appreciated

Hi...uchennawork
We are giving 3 common ways to exit Odin Mode.
Press and hold the buttons until your Samsung phone restarts itself. If your Samsung device doesn’t have a Home button, it’s fine to just press the other buttons.
1. Press and hold all the buttons to exit Samsung Odin Mode together
“Volume up + Volume down + Power + Home”
2. Press and hold all buttons except the Volume up button
“Volume down + Power + Home”
3. Remove the battery and reboot your Samsung phone
Take out the battery from your device for about 100 seconds and put it back on again. And then restart your Samsung device.
(Note: Don’t try to remove your battery if your phone still under warranty!!! You can just take it to local support store.)
After your Samsung...

You can hold the volume down, home button and power button simultaneously to reset the phone. The mmc_read error is a problem reading the internal memory (the OS) during boot. This is a known widespread problem with the Note 4 and is terminal without the internal board containing the flash memory being replaced.

If you get the phone to boot, you may find that it lags, randomly resets and struggles to power on. You can use an app called "Wake Lock" (set to level 4) to keep the phone alive at the expense of a slightly faster battery drain. Just keep it charged :)

I tried to hold down the volume down, home button and the power button simultaneously but nothing happens; I have tried doing this several times but no results. I even changed the battery three times (both the batteries are fully charged), yet no joy. I even tried to boot it into recovery which is to hold down the volume up, home button and the power button simultaneously. Yet, nothing, no vibration when starting which usually happens.

Sorry, it was my mistake, I meant volume up. I've done a fair bit of reading and have concluded that regardless of temporary fixes, for my case it's a bad board inside. I've ordered a new (used) one to keep the phone going for longer as it does everything I need.

If I restart my phone, it just shuts down. Sometimes I can get it to power back on by leaving the battery out for a couple of minutes. Failing that I cool it in the freezer for 5 minutes and it always comes back on after.

I don't think when you get to these issues anything other than a hardware repair is going to make it work as it should.

Use an app called 'Wake Lock' from the Play Store and set it to level 4. This may consume a little more battery power, but it has kept mine from lagging, freezing and rebooting for the last week.

I did some more research online about my situation and it turned out that the error had to do with the internal storage not being able to be read, it couldn't be fixed by flashing anything in odin. The motherboard is on its last legs. Which means the motherboard needs to be replaced.

After your Samsung phone or tablet reboots, you can check whether the Odin fail error goes away. If your device still stuck on Odin mode, you could try using Odin Flash Tool to exist Download Mode.
