So i just finished building my pc and was just curious if it is a good build for streaming and gaming (popular games such as Rainbow Six Siege, GTA V, Overwatch, Fortnite and PUBG). Also if its good for VR because i might want to get into that. My specs are listed below:
Intel i5-8600k
Asus Prime z270-a
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Windforce
Patriot Signature Line 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400
600 Watt Power Supply
Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212
1TB harddrive (plan on getting more storage and also buying a SSD)
Your thoughts?
I dont know if this matters but OS is Windows 10 Pro

The 8600k & Z270 are not compatible. For gaming 8gb is the minimum with 16gb being the standard now and recommend. For streaming a similar priced Ryzen cpu setup would be better or with Intel going up to the 8700k. The 1060 6gb is an excellent card for 1080p 60Hz.

What 600w psu? Quality is very important in a gaming build.

My PSU is the EVGA - 80 PLUS 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V Power Supply. I plan to get more RAM soon but its expensive rn. Also what do you mean 8600k isnt compatible with the motherboard? i installed everything and my pc works just fine?

The 8600k does not work with Z270 motherboards, you must have a Z370. 8th gen Intel only work with 300 series motherboards.

The problem with adding RAM later is running into issues. Only RAM purchased as a matched kit is guaranteed to work together. Buying the same make and model is usually ok but there is a small chance of issues.

Not a top end PSU but not bad either. Normally for overclocking or gaming builds you go with high quality psu’s.

The biggest concern is the 8600k if streaming. It’s a brilliant cpu for gaming but CPU’s with more threads are better suited to gaming & streaming, you may suffer some FPS limitations in high cpu usage games.

My mistake, yeah youre correct about the motherboard being the prime z370a.
So do you recommend replacing RAM with a matching kit of 4 (4x4GB) or (2x8GB).
Also could i simply just upgrade my power supply?
And finally, is it possible to remove the CPU and replace it with a better one?
