I've tried absolutely everything to fix my hard drive from spiking 100%
I have tried everything on this guide and nothing worked. All I know right now is that it started when I disabled memory compression and since then I enabled it again but the problem didn't stop. The disk seems to be at 0% unless I open a program. Once I do open a program. My computer goes from 2018 to 1998 and the speeds are astronomically slow unless i set the program to realtime priority (which btw causes no other issues. I know people think real time is bad but it's fine for me). I also can't download any games from steam without it stopping after download like 1 MB and trying to write it. I would greatly appreciate some help with this please

EDIT: I just found out that this actually happens to my other hard drive too, so it isn't that my main drive is dying.

Specs:
ASRock Z270M Extreme 4
Intel core i7 7700K
Noctua NH-D15
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (4×4GB)
FireCuda 1TB
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti FTW
EVGA SuperNova 550
OS: Windows 10

If you are using Windows Defender, try another antivirus. It seems like some processors just don't get along with this antivirus and randomly it just ocuppies the hdd usage, making the PC extremely slow. In my laptop it anyway messed up something, registry or I don't know what, and the only way to get my performance back was formatting. After formatting and using Windows Defender again hoping this bug won't happen again, the antivirus found a trojan one day and since then the performance is messed again, no matter if I change the antivirus.

Oh sorry. That would be a worth a try but unfortunately there is no restore point for before this happened especially since it's been over a month
