I bought a new laptop acer aspire 3 315-41g. Only 6.9 gb of ram is usable out of 8. Cpu is ryzen 3 2200u with vega 3 but it also has dedicated gpu radeon 535 with 2gb vram. Is there any way I can disable vega 3 or at least lower the memory so it wont eat so much ram? I already checked in bios and there is no options to disable

I'd say it's allocating RAM for the Vega graphics. The Vega 3 isn't a dedicated card. It is built into the processor. So it has no graphics RAM. It has to use system memory.

I would say thats why the usable RAM isn't 8GB.

Hmm i'd look in the Bios and see if you can set the amount of allocated video memory, lowering it will almost certainly cause performance issues if using the vega 3, if not then you should be able to disable the vega part entirely,

Here's someone else disabling the vega gpu via bios - it will look different i expect, but the naming should be similar.

I have a dedidacted GPU WITH 2GB VRAM. So this vega is just useless and I want it to use as less ram as possible. And as I said before, I cant change anything in bios because I dont have those options or anything similar
