I'm not totally new to overclocking but I feel like I've run into a wall and I'm missing something here.
I've just finished up a budget build with a Gigabyte B450m DS3H, Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000MhZ 2x4GB RAM and Ryzen 3 2200G CPU. PSU is a rm550x and running the stock wraith cooler. No Gpu installed yet.
The memory support list for the ds3h board was limited for 8GB kits, but there seemed to be plenty of support for the same corsair 3000mhz RAM in 4x4GB kits so I picked up a 2x4GB kit due to budget.
I can't get the xmp profile for the ram to run at any speed over 2133mhz (BSOD not long after boot). With custom timings I can get it to run at 2400mhz at 1.35v but it fails prime95 Large FFT's with no overclock on the CPU. I was really hoping to run it at the rated speed of 3000mhz
Do I need to wait for a BIOS update to improve RAM compatibility, just accept I'm never running over 2133mhz, or should I have bought a different board?
