Hello everyone...
I currently have 2x500GB HDDs... One exclusively for Windows 10, and another one for games, movies, etc.
I am planning to get either a SSHD or a SSD...
I have 2 options - a Kingston 240GB SSD or Seagate 1TB Firecuda...
Which one should I get???

Solution
I would pass on the firecuda option.
8gb of flash is likely not large enough to hold what you need to use.

240gb is fine for windows, but, why not buy a ssd large enough to hold your frequently used games and apps also?
Prices for a large ssd are now much more reasonable.

Neither.

250GB or 500GB Samsung 860 EVO, Crucial MX500, WD Blue.
This will be for the OS and applications.

Why only those 2 options?

SSD no point in a SSHD if not a boot drive, as the SSD cache is not big enough on a SSHD to be of use.

Agree with USAFRet, MX500 is a good all round drive that kills the Kingston but a little slower than the Samsung, but at a cheaper price/capacity.

SSHD will act as the boot drive itself... it will store windows...

Fire cuda is twice as fast as HDD and that's it. SSD's like MX300, BX300, MX500 are ~10-50 times faster in day to day stuff. if you don't need space then go SSD.
and about the price, here's a list of top best BANG/buck discs. They are quite the same with smaller sizes, so feel free to grab cheapest 250 GB one from this list (I know they are 500+).

I get that.
Since you already have other drives, get a regular SSD. It will be faster than the SSHD.

My question is...why those 2 particular drives?
Why that specific Kingston?

most people do use ssds to boot up windows and use and use disk d for their programs and games ,ssds are expensive as of now and the most space for ssds are a terabyte they're on sale @ microcenter for 170 dollars ,,, right now stick with an ssd for windows and an additional hard drive not an ssd for the games and programs

Have you looked into the new QLC drives? I recently read a review and they are quite compelling and very attractively priced. The 1TB drive was not as cheap as a HDD of the same size, but not much more expensive.

At the time of the review it was the first commercially available SATA QLC SDD. However Samsung had plans of releasing a series of drives of their own.

Samsung 860 is a crazy good price lately. I have used samsung and other brands, but now only Samsung. They are just better and cost about the same.

Either way though go with a full SSD. You already have 1tb combined so go with mich faster storage
