Hi

My current system

i7 7700k

asus prime z270-k

16GB Ram

1060- 6GB

1080P monitor and soon will get 4K

I want to upgrade the GPU to 1080Ti, to play 4K games i found one on amazon about 680$, also FE on NVIDIA website about 700$..

so the first question is that, should i upgrade? or wait 2080, 2070??

Which one is faster and stronger on 4K ?? i mean more than 60 FPS

Q2 about my current 1060, lets say i overclocked it, Can i play on ultra with 2K ?

PS: i don't care about trx..

Please advice..

Thanks

Like wildcard said. Wait for benchmarks.

However, if we go based on the trend for the last few years. We can except a 25-50% improvement over the last gen, depending on card.

Wait for benchmarks. But I would aim for 2080 series if the performance is as we except. It will be better for 4k gaming. The 1080ti can barely handle 4k at 60fps at times depending on the game. You can except better results with 2080s.

I'm going to start with Q2 first, if you want to see how your current system handles higher resolution then utilize Nvidia DSR (in Nvidia Control Panel). Your system may handle 1440P (2560x1440) at 60 FPS around medium settings.

For 4K/60hz High-Ultra settings you'll want a 1080 ti, no one yet can tell you how the 2070/2080 is going to be at 4K until reviews surface.

No idea. We don't have any benchmarks right now. I recommend waiting for series 20 reviews but you could get the 4K monitor if you want.

60FPS @ 4K depends heavily on the game. For example, even Titan V can't sustain Mankind Divided in that settings. But overall, we guess 1080Ti to be roughly equal to 2080.

As said before, depends on the game. OC will give 10-15% boost at most. BTW, you could test 2K performance with Nvidia DSR using 1080p monitor. (Just performance, not 2K quality)
