I would like to upgrade my graphics card with an 8 gigabyte version. Which one should i get?

Dunno. You listed everything but the single most important component to a gpu. The psu. The psu will determine just how big an upgrade you can handle, which may or may not be an 8Gb version, which generally are far too much gpu for an i5-2400.

Personally, an over-the-top gpu would be the Rx580 8Gb or a gtx1060 6Gb and thats about as much as that cpu+ram can deal with. General recommended is a 4Gb gtx1050ti or 4Gb Rx570.

I am planning on upgradijng the power supply which is why itts not on my parts list
