Need help with pc

I have a pc that my dads friend built, and I’ve only had it for about 7 months. I recently started having an issue where it would randomly shut off and turn right back on. It only happens when I’m playing Games.
My specs are
Intel i5 3570
MSI Gtx 970
12 GB of ram
My PSU is the EVGA 550w G2

Idle the cpu is usually around 35-42 and under load it’s about 50-65
I’m hoping it’s not the psu because the guy who built it is out of town, and I have no clue how to replace parts in a pc
