My computer doesnt start any kind of "recent" game, i played mafia correctly, and grand theft auto san andreas, but trying to run call of duty black ops 2 or mafia 2 gives me 0x0000007b error, on both games, and it used to give me that error on minecraft, but now it doesnt. i have checked dxdiag, tried to update directx( it was currently running newest version so it wouldnt let me update), and unisntalled and installed Visual c++ runtime from 2005 2008 2010 and 2012, both 64 and 32bits, from my W7 ultimate 64 bits computer with a Intel Q9450 @ 3.02Ghz 4gb of ram and a hd6850, what could i try instead of formatting?

First guess would be that your GPU card is too old to be supported in those games. At some point developers stop trying to make titles backwards compatible. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure AMD also said they were going to stop including game support for cards older than the R9 series about two years ago. Again, that might just be me mis-remembering what I read.

However, if it IS still supported, this is what I'd try first. Follow the steps exactly as outlined, even if you've installed recent drivers, you probably need to use the DDU and THEN install the latest drivers.

If that fails to work, then I'd suggest you might need to do a clean install of your OS. Also, since it's well known that the Windows 7 Ultimate edition is widely available in a pirated format across the internet, it bears mentioning that a lot of those torrented ISOs are also well documented as being unstable. Likely that's not the case in your case, but if it is one of those versions you're not going to find much love here.

If you need to do a clean install, this is how it should be done.

Hey, i have done it as it sais, i have used the driver uninstaller on safe mode and w/o internet, then i rebooted, and installed the drivers with internet, but it caused an error, i installed c++ runtime 2012 but 32 bits as it failed to install that,i tried it again, but it failed installing graphics drivers, even though my screen behaves as it is well installed, in the sense that it sets its resolution. Thank you in advance

P.D. idk if this may help but when i try to install c++ runtime 2015, which i uninstalled earlier this day, it gives me an error that a better version is installed or similar, and i cannot uninstall it as i already did.

I have gotten my drivers from the amd page, also as you mentioned earlier the windows install is one of those ripped images from the internet, I was hoping to get an add before formatting but I guess it will be earlier, thanks a lot :D
