New to Overclocking, I've tried researching and doing it myself.

Hello there! I kinda new to forums here! So I'm sorry if im not doing anything the correct way.

So, TLDR. Here are the specs. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VcZnXP

And so I tried overclocking cpu thru software at first but nothing worked (which I found out later was not the right way). But I tweaked the gpu a bit (Although I'm not sure if what I did is right and If there was a proper guide for the gpu I have it would be godsend.) and after knowing that I could overclock thru the bios I ended up using the "performance" profile by asus and then enabling XMP and some features (which I dont even know are helpful or not)

My usage is kinda heavy as I use 2 displays at 1080p and I watch videos, play games, edit videos, photoshop, design, and a bunch of other random stuff. (Sometimes maxing out my ram with only chrome tabs)

I cannot stream gta on SLOBS or OBS, Only with Geforce(wish dosent have much customization). I will have to manually end my rgb softwares thru task manager (AURA, CAM, Synapse) so pc doesn't keep being glitchy.

Here is what HWMonitor says after all kinds of loads and usages: https://imgur.com/a/rZNtXdw This might clear some doubts.

I know im stressing out the pc and I want to be better at maintaining my pc which is why im asking from the best (you guys!)

If there is anything else I need to provide please do say so.

Sincerely,
Twisted VorteK

For 7700k, you can aim for a mild overclock of 4.4-4.6GHz pretty easily with the Krakken.

I would go for 4.4Ghz on adaptive mode. 1080Ti is a pretty powerful GPU so you don't want your CPU bottleneck it during gaming.

For streaming a 8700K would work better than 8600K/7700K.

edit- your CPU reached 99/100C max so you should consider lowering the overclock from 4.9Ghz.

At 100% load your system is throttling. The cpu temps are way too high for load. This will ultimately fry you processor. Also the voltage on the cpu is too high. The combination of the 2 is going to kill your cpu. This is Tomshardware temperature guide. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

If that voltage is the only way to get your cpu to 4.9ghz, I would highly suggest you lower the voltage and overclock. You are killing your cpu this way. If you have run it like this for a while you have most likely already damaged it.

it isn't rock science and you don't have to be exact. you go with something that works and then gradually lower voltage, run stress tests everytime you lower the voltage, repeat until stress test fails. Go back up a couple notch in voltage and run stress test again to confirm.

this is pretty much it. 4.9G is too high for your kraken. I'd go for something like 4.4ghz or whatever it can handle at about 1.25-1.3V

Ah, thanks for the input. That makes so much sense. I will try to manual overclock from 1.3v and under, Maybe lower the clock as of now. As for the cpu I think i have already damaged it. I'm seeing signs of it. Are there any guides for this specific processor? Or maybe even the Asus BIOS?
