I have overclocked the 6700K to 4500Mhz. Voltage is set to 1.350v. Ambient temperature is around 26 dec C. Max temperatures during stress test using AIDA64 results in the mid 80's at least in 2 cores out of the 4 cores. CPU is water cooled with Corsair 110i. Replaced the thermal paste. Did not gain anything from that. The strange thing about my CPU is that at the stock 4000Mhz, it needs 1.340v. Seems that I lost the silicon lottery in this case. But I have understood that normally, the stock voltage should be around 1.250v. My CPU needs way more.

Normally running Prepar3d V4.3 running smooth as butter. No issues here at all.

Looking for guidance to bring down the CPU temps.

Regards

Ted

Mid 80's at 4.5GHz is not too bad as you are still within limits and the overclcock is not to bad for the 6700K. In terms of vcore, I cannot believe that at stock it needs 1.340v unless everything is on auto as that tends to overcompensate. If you know how to play with the vcore, I would try stock settings with a vcore of 1.245v with auto on everything else and then move up or down until stable...1.350v for the 4.5GHz is not great but then again it is not bad either..You can try dropping that and using the LLC to High or Turbo to stop voltage droop at a lower vcore...I had an 6700K and had these issues as well and it required a fair ammount of playing around with the vcore/LLC though I went the adaptive route and finally had a good...
