I've been getting the CPU Over temperature error and I ruled some things out first.
1. I checked my power cable and it's supplying the normal 220-225V.
2. My computer boots up to the BIOS and gives me the CPU over temperature error, and when I try to log into windows it shuts down.
3. The BIOS says my AIO pump is spinning at 1200rpm and my top 2 radiator fans work fine aswell. So does everything else in my case.
4. I litstend to my pump and felt it and it felt fine.
5. It just arrived from standing idle in an airtight box for 5 weeks.
6. I have no other errors. Other than the overtemperature error and my computer occasionally refusing to turn on. I assume due to the temperature.
7. My final verdict is that the thermal paste must have probably died up causing issues with the transfer of heat. But what's wierd is that it instantly says 89C something 77C the moment I start it up.

What do I do?

Solution
I would remount it anyway. It must have to do with your cooler. There is no other reason I can think of you would have 77c idle temps with stock settings, even the stock intel cooler would do much better than that.
