Hello,

I have asus desktop.
When i start my pc, it show a black screen every time and message: press f1 to set up , press f2 to enter default values.

And it does not show proper time even if i set it okay.

Please help me.

From last 2, 3 times when i start it...it took a long time, may b around 15-20 mins to start with black screen.

Pls help me how to solve this, n what is causing it

Found this solution:

Sounds like the cmos battery is dying. You need to replace the battery. It is in your computer on the motherboard...A small round silver battery..

during a reboot, the motherboard is able to maintain power to the bios so it does not reset itself. but when powered off for a while, the bios has no power so it resets to defaults. the time and date setting back is a big indicator of that battery being dead or dying. it's cheap and simple to replace and the place i'd start first to fix the problem
