Set up new router.

Hello, my apartment does have internet facility so I can plug rj45 cable to my laptop to use the internet. But ive been thinking to setup a router so my phone also can use the internet, but after the installation finished it said no internet. What did cause this? Thanks.

Note :
the router is linksys x3500
the internet does have sign in things to connect to the internet.
In Ipconfig it is written that media disconnected

Sounds like you made a mistake during setup.
LAN cable from wall going to routers WAN port?
Reset the router and try again, ensure PC's network card is set to get IP from DHCP.

Already tried it, but not working. Do you have other idea?

If your router supports it, it may need to clone your laptops MAC address to fool your ISP in to thinking only 1 PC is connecting, they may not want a router on the pther end.

Also can you confirm the laptop connects directly to a wall socket RJ45 and not another device.

Yes my laptop connect directly to the wall socket, but I dont know if the socket connected to other device or not. And I think my apartment use mikrotik modem because its writen mikrotik at sign in page.
