How much slower should my WIFI be from my Ethernet speeds?

I have noticed that the computer that's connected to the Ethernet gets a download speed of around 300mbps download while my phone right next to the router will only get around 150mbps download. Ping and upload are about the same but I felt this was a huge difference between the 2. My wifi is using the 5ghz channel and not the 2.4ghz channel. My router can handle speeds well above 300mbps so I don't know why the wifi would be so much slower. The router I'm using is the AC1900 Dual Band Asus router. Is there any setting that could affect wifi speeds so drastically? Thank you in advance.

Solution
The simple answer is: THAT IS WIFI. Is no different than cellular, if you are close to tower, u get a better signal, if u don't have that many neighbors sharing the airway, better throughput. What your are getting is TYPICAL, not a whole lot u can do in practice.
