Palit GTS 450: Fan not properly working

Hello,

So I just got one of this old gfx card from a garage sale yesterday and according to the owner, it does not work.

however when I got home to test it, it does work. The problem is, the fan is not spinning. It does when you open the PC but just for a second then it stops.

I found out that if I set the Fan speed to 90% - 100% using GPU Tweak from asus and MSI Burner, it works although it was so noisy. If I return it to 80% the fan stops working.

Any ideas?

The fan is broken. You might be able to rig up a second fan or replace the one that's there somehow.

Your bigger issue is going to be possible damage to the card due to high temps before the fan failed. It's very likely that something on the card has fried due to high temps. I hope you didn't pay much for it.
