Hey Guys,

I've built my PC about one year ago! I was completely new to overclocking and read a lot of guides and tutorials.
Now I'm at a point where a can’t get any further. My question is now, if I hit the maximum of my chip or if I'm missing some potential to get more performance out of the chip.
Comprising my results with some other results I’ve seen online, my core voltages seems pretty high considering the multiplier.

But firstly here my specs:
Case: Fractal Nano S
Mobo: Asus Strix Z370-I (mITX)
CPU: Intel i7 8086K (delidded and costume copper IHS)
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080ti SC2
RAM: 32 GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200Mhz
PSU: Silverstone Strider 850 Watt Platinum
Cooling: Costume loop for CPU and GPU (1x 240 / 1x 280)

I hope somebody can give me some advises to improve the performance or stability of my rig.

You will not notice a difference between 5.0 and 5.3 anywhere besides synthetic benches. If you crash again nothing wrong with dialing it back a little.

If you want the absolute guaranteed fastest, SL sells binned, delidded chips @ 5.3.

Boy your settings are more than good...5.2GHz with 74 Degrees max on AIDA...I can't think of anything as I am sure you have tried most nearly everything to get the vcore to its lowest for a stable 5.2 without any offset!!!!...and I am on a Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 motherboard so differences in the way my BIOS works. I have gone the adaptive/offset route and can reach 5GHz at 1.345v but above that, I just am not comfortable with the vcore required, so I stick to 4.9GHz at 1.308v max usually with a 'high' LLC setting. Also just delidded...was not as terrifying as I thought it would be and the temps are now fantastic..could not believe how good it would be...

Hopefully others can jump in...but your overclock is Impressive none the less!

I was just thinking that the vCore seemed a bit high compared to other results I've seen! But yeah, my temps are really good! The 74 Average are based on a 4 hours torture test in Aida64, everything turned on beside of the GPU.

Till yesterday, I thought my OC would be perfectly stable. As I said, it completed successfully a 4 hours AIDA64 run.
But yesterday i got an unexpected BSOD during Far Cry 5 :/

And you are right, actually I can enable speedstep again. But I think I’ve read somewhere that i would be better to turn it off when you are using a manual voltage. (Not adaptive)

Before I got the 8700k. I really wanted to get into OC but I got a really cheese chip so I decided to switch to an 8086K.

EDIT: I already played with the 5,3 Ghz. I can get into windows, also managed to complete a 3D Mark Fire Strike run but it's not suitable for 24/7 i think. I would have to exceed the 1.45v, i guess.
