Can't stream with these speeds?

Hey folks,

I just ran a speed test and i'm at 10 ping, 90 mbps download and 40 mbps upload and i literally am struggling to watch youtube videos at 1080p. I read somewhere that to stream 4k you should be fine with 50 mbps... so why is it I can't even stream 1080p?

I've tried a different browser, restarted both router and modem, restarted computer, etc.

Any solutions?

Not really possible.
It's up a pair of stairs and my parents are against any drilling.
I tried a powerline adapter and that didn't help either. In fact, it made it worse.

I'm having a hard time believing i can't stream wireless with these internet speeds.
It seems fine on my phone.

You should be able to do it as a *Test* to confirm the problem just buy a long ether cable once confirmed (or not) it will help determine how to resolve it. Even if you have to buy a 100ft cable and run down/up the stairs from the router to your PC. Again just as a test not the final solution.

I said TEMPORARILY -- lay it on the floor for a test OR move your PC. This is for a test to verify where in the network your problem is.

The internet is obviously going to be faster if it's directly connected to the modem.
I tried it once maybe 2 months ago and i was getting speeds like 200/100 but running an ethernet is not possible in my home.

That would require the telephone to be upstairs on my computer table.
Out of the question sadly.
I'm looking for a solution that wouldn't require me to move my telephone setup or have an Ethernet extend from my room to the modem downstairs. The house is pretty big.
