Before booting and playing feel the USB LAN adapter.

(Fairly sure that you are using an USB adapter versus a wireless card which would be in a PCIe slot. Please correct if I am wrong.)

Then play as normal. While doing keep checking the USB wireless adapter by carefully feeling it. It may get very warm or even hot.

If so, that is likely the problem. I have a couple of USB wireless adapters fail in such manner.

You may be able to put the wireless adapter on the end of a known working USB extension cable to raise the wireless adapter up and away from the back of the host computer.

Should help with both cooling and tranmission/reception.
