Howdy,
I built my first gaming PC a few weeks ago and went with the Micro-ATX route. Using:
- Intel i5 8400
- MSi GTX 1070 Ti
- MSi Core Frozr L CPU Cooler
- NZXT H400i
The H400i has the smart device pre-installed, but I'm only using it to control the LED strip. All fans are connected to the motherboard headers. The case came with two 120mm intake fans and one 120mm exhaust fan. I thought these were Aer PWM fans but they are not.
The current temperatures I'm seeing are:
CPU
- idle: 30C
- gaming: 53-59C
GPU
- idle: 35C
- gaming: 72C
I'm not playing super graphics intensive games at the moment. I have only played CS:GO and Fortnite at Max settings on 1080p using a 60hz tv screen (yeah I know, but it's temporary). I'm not sure if 140mm fans up front will improve these temps, or if I should even worry about it at all. If I do upgrade the front fans, is it recommended to get static pressure fans since air is only getting thru the vent holes on the side-front panel? Also if I upgrade the front fans to 140mm, would I benefit having two extra exhaust fans on the top? Lastly, should all the fans be upgraded in the PWM/4 pin config?
