Can I overclock a laptop of that configuration ?i am not able to control the fan speed and the voltage control.When I tried the graphics never flickered at the maximum possible core clock at 135 then I tried to add 100 to the memory clock the temperature went up to 90 so stopped the process .It has an 8gb ram and 2gb graphics card as metioned 940mx DDR3.(Hp au620tx)

I would say it isn't worth it to try. Mostly going to lead to overheating.

940MX is Nvidia's entry level mobile graphics GPU.

If you really want more performance, I suggest taking the laptop apart and replacing the stock thermal compounds and thermal pads with some of the nicer stuff. Or get a cooling pad to keep air flowing when you game. The CPU and GPU will stay at higher clocks longer that way.
