When I play games such as CS:GO, my fps is around 250-300, but it will randomly drop to 0 for a second or two about 2-5 times per game. I have no idea where to start looking for the problem.

Windows 10, all its drivers, and any essential PC programs are on the SSD and everything else, including games, are on the HDD. Any help would be appreciated.

My PC Hardware

CPU: Intel i7 8700k
GPU:EVGA GTX 1080
Motherboard:ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming LGA 1151
Ram:8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3200hz
PSU:EVGA 850W Gold Modular
HDD:WD Blue 2TB 5400 RPM 64MB Cache
SSD: 240GB SU650

I ran a benchmark using Userbenchmark and these are my results.

UserBenchmarks: Game 105%, Desk 88%, Work 77%
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K - 98.1%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 - 122.6%
SSD: Adata SU650 240GB - 73.6%
HDD: WD Blue 2TB (2015) - 80.1%
RAM: G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3200 C16 1x8GB - 53.8%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING

One thing I'm seeing off the top is that you are not running an XMP for your RAM so you're not seeing those 3200MHz, you're getting 2133MHz.

Another thing is you are only running 8GB of RAM which means you are completely missing out on the Dual Channel speeds.

I'd suggest ordering another stick of exactly the same model and brand you have, putting it in and running the XMP from your BIOS to get the proper speeds.

I went into the bios and changed it to XMP and the ram to 3200hz, but the ram is still running at a terrible rate. It was originally bought as a package of two totaling to 16GB, but one of the sticks came dead. I am simply trying to use the PC for as long as possible before sending the ram back and purchasing a new kit. Hopefully I can find ram at a local store.
