Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your support.
I m currently running a H110 chipset based mobo with a i3 6100 cpu . Id like to upgrade to a 7th gen cpu . do i have to update the bios or the thing will be just " plug and play " ?

I mean just replace the cpu would be fine ?

Thanks again ..

Yes, BIOS update can only be done with a compatible and running processor.
If the BIOS has been...
1. Before you install the new processor, make sure you already checked and updated the BIOS, if necessary, with your current running processor still attached to the mainboard before you even try to plug the new processor into your H110 motherboard.
2. I see you have I3 6100, if this 7th gen is also another I3, I would say, forget it! You have to go for at least I5. The performance difference only by generation is small.

If the BIOS has been updated and if the processor you want is on the compatibility list of that BIOS version, you should have no issue at all plugging the new processor.
